Special Use Permit Application

The Montreat Conference Center filed an application on July 14 for a Special Use Permit to build their proposed hotel. An updated version of the Special Use Permit Application was posted by the Town of Montreat on September 9, 2021. The full 49-page text of the permit application can be found below.

On September 16 the Town of Montreat published a 20-page Staff Report on the application, also visible below.

The Board of Adjustment began consideration of the permit proposal at a public hearing on October 21. The permit hearing lasted for about 50 hours over eight sessions, coming to an end on January 6, 2022, when the Board voted to grant the permit.
